Provável castro romano, edificação da base e porta da torre no século XI, destruído pelos mouros em 1140, reconstrução do castelo após a carta de foral e doação aos templários (1173-1185), renovação do castelo e início da construção das muralhas da vila, construção das torres, barbacã e fosso (século XIII). Reparação das muralhas (século XIV), reparação das muralhas e construção de nova torre (1530-1536).
Probable Roman fort, base and door of the tower in the 11th century, destroyed by the Moors in 1140, rebuilt after being given to the Templars (1173-1185), renovation and beginning of the town’s walls, building of towers, outside precinct and moat in the 13th century, repair of walls (14th century), new tower, 1530-1536.
